In Japan, the art of souvenir collecting takes a unique form—stamps. At iconic landmarks, visitors and locals collect stamps, turning each location into a lasting memento—a small but powerful piece of their journey.
Inspired by the profound impact of my study period in Japan, I initiated a creative project to pay homage to those meaningful times. Translating the joy of collecting stamps in my notebook, I fashioned personalized imprints tailored to my unique experience in Japan, giving the viewer a glimpse of my time, but without the context of the memories that only I hold. The process involved laser-cutting graphics into rubber blocks, stamping them onto paper, and hand-sewing them together through traditional book-making techniques.
